Tokyo, 2009

This is me:

My name is Prangtip Geismar or known by many as Maxie. I was born in Bangkok, Thailand, grew up partly in Bangkok and later in the Northeast United State in NYC, New York and Norwalk, Connecticut. I met my husband JÃ¥rg Geismar- a German artist in New York. A year after our marriage we moved from Manhattan, New York to Dusseldorf, Germany. Through our professions we travel the world and have lived in different places including Tokyo, Japan. He is my best travel companion. We both enjoy finding new thing and experience the local ways of life. We often take off spontaneously on weekends or days off to go get lost by foot, bicycle or vehicles.

I really love to eat and to cook. It is my passion. I have most fun when I discover new ingredients and experiment with them. For me food, cooking and ingredients can tell much about people, their live and culture. My other love is Design, Art, edible gardening and meeting people. I enjoy networking and connecting people together. I have been working in management in the Retails world for more than 20 years. In between I also involve in cultural projects. Some people seem to like my views and ideas for their projects. They would ask me to support them. It is a great opportunity to make my hobbies into cultural events and exhibitions. I love what I do because I am a very curious person. JÃ¥rg and I like to look at the world like little child. There are still so much to see and to be discovered.

In the last 20+ years, many of my friends and family who have been genie pigs for my cooking and experiment have suggested me to write down my recipes, stories and discoveries. I got inspired to start this blog after watching a film Julie & Julia and received many comments and was encouraged by JÃ¥rg, my youngest sister - Chittrayo and friends who said … you are just like the combination of them!

Most pictures and videos are taken by JÃ¥rg. He has that natural talent.
